POSITION SUMMARY
The Outreach Manager will support GCPA's growth and engagement initiatives under the direct supervision of the Deputy Executive Director in a fully remote work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to build expertise in membership development, event promotion, and stakeholder relations within the energy sector. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives working independently while staying connected to team goals and organizational priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- Conduct outreach to prospective corporate and individual members via phone, email, video calls, and in-person meetings
- Support membership recruitment campaigns and follow up with leads
- Maintain accurate prospect tracking and pipeline management
- Assist with member retention efforts and engagement activities
- Help coordinate new member onboarding processes
- Update membership database and CRM systems
CONFERENCE & PROGRAM PROMOTION
- Promote GCPA's conferences including Spring Conference, Fall Conference, MISO/SPP Regional Conference, and emPOWERing Leadership Conference
- Execute registration campaigns through email, social media, and direct outreach
- Support attendee recruitment and follow-up communications
- Assist with promotional materials and marketing content
- Help coordinate speaker, sponsor, and exhibitor outreach
- Provide on-site support at conferences and events
PARTNERSHIP SUPPORT
- Assist in identifying potential corporate sponsors and partners
- Support Partnership Program recruitment efforts
- Help maintain sponsor relationships and track deliverables
- Coordinate with sponsors to maximize their engagement
- Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and recognition
STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS
- Attend industry events and networking functions to represent GCPA
- Build relationships with members and prospective members
- Learn about different sectors within the power industry
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Assist with member communications and inquiries
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Maintain accurate records in association management system
- Prepare regular activity reports and track metrics
- Support content development for website and member communications
- Assist with team projects and organizational initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by Deputy Executive Director
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College diploma or bachelor's degree
- 1-5 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, business development, or related field
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and follow-through
- Comfortable with virtual communication tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and remote collaboration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently while taking direction from supervisor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
- Professional demeanor and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel for conferences and events
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience or familiarity with the electric energy industry
- Knowledge of power markets, utilities, or energy sector
- Experience with AMS or database management systems
- Social media and digital marketing skills
- Previous customer service or member relations experience
- Previous remote work experience

This is a fully remote position. Candidate must be comfortable working independently from a home office with reliable internet connectivity. Regular virtual check-ins with Deputy Executive Director and team. Travel required for GCPA conferences and events (approximately 25-30%), primarily within Texas and surrounding states.
