We are seeking a Sr. Assistant, Marketing and Logistics to join our Chlor‑Alkali Department within the Commodity Chemical Division in Houston. This role is well‑suited for an early‑career professional with 1–4 years of experience and strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills who is looking to build expertise in international trade, logistics, and commodity marketing.
The Chlor‑Alkali Department serves as one of the core offices supporting MC’s global Chlor‑Alkali operations. The team primarily handles four key products: Salt, Caustic Soda, EDC, and VCM. The Department manages the marketing of Mexican Solar Salt to North America from ESSA—a former joint venture for salt production and exporting located in Guerrero Negro, B.C.S., Mexico—and continues to source additional salt supply to address unmet demand. The Department is also expanding its Caustic Soda business in the Americas, exporting from the USGC to Latin America, Europe, and other global markets. Additionally, the Department is growing its EDC/VCM export activities from the USGC, leveraging U.S. producers’ competitive advantages driven by the shale revolution.
The Sr. Assistant, Marketing and Logistics is responsible for supporting the Manager with import and export purchase and sales contracts and transactions, including overseas business, for Caustic, EDC/VCM, and Salt commodities. Once an order is received, this position manages the full business process, which includes arranging vessel shipments, handling all related documentation, entering data into SAP, preparing invoices, learning to monitor credit lines with guidance (and eventually taking full responsibility), and ensuring timely payment, including demurrage collection. Additional business support will be provided as requested by the Manager.
Upon mutual agreement, the employee may gradually transition into a sales and marketing role over a 3–5 year period, based on shared interest and readiness.
