UTHealth Houston is seeking a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist to join the Alumni Engagement team and lead digital communication and engagement initiatives that strengthen connections between alumni and the university. This role is responsible for managing alumni email communications, coordinating virtual events and livestreams, and leveraging digital engagement platforms to enhance the alumni experience and increase participation in programs, events, and volunteer opportunities.
The successful candidate will combine strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and data-driven decision-making to create meaningful digital experiences for alumni audiences. This position plays a key role in executing engagement strategies through platforms such as Constant Contact, ThankView, digital class books, virtual event and webinar technologies, and alumni engagement systems.
Experience working in any sector with a content management system is required, and experience working with cloud-based CRM and online giving platforms is considered a plus. Basic knowledge of CRM or SQL databases is helpful. Digital and web writing skills are desirable as this person may also produce content.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Lead marketing and outreach efforts for in-person, virtual, and hybrid programs, including promotion, registration, attendee communications, livestream support, and post-event engagement strategies. Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni virtual programming and continuing education opportunities, ensuring a seamless and engaging participant experience.
• Manage and optimize alumni-focused digital platforms, including ThankView, digital yearbooks, webinar and virtual event platforms, continuing education programs, and other engagement tools that enhance alumni connectivity and participation.
• Coordinate and execute alumni-focused email communications that promote events, volunteer opportunities, alumni awards, and school-specific programs to drive engagement, volunteerism, and participation.
• Collaborate with Development Communications and Public Affairs to ensure alumni engagement priorities are incorporated into broader communication strategies while identifying and cultivating compelling alumni stories, testimonials, and content opportunities that can support institutional storytelling efforts.
• Utilize data and engagement metrics to inform strategy, improve outreach effectiveness, and identify innovative approaches that strengthen alumni relationships, increase participation, and enhance the overall alumni experience.

Position Summary:
Responsible for leading the strategic branding, development, and execution of digital marketing campaigns, SEO/SEM, content creation, and email marketing to promote UTHealth Houston. Responsible for ensuring the messaging is clear, concise, and delivered within established timelines.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Digital Marketing or a related field required
Minimum Experience:
At least 5 years of related work experience in digital marketing is required. Demonstrated experience using Google Ads and Facebook Ad Manager required. Experience in the healthcare field preferred
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
