Children's Museum Houston seeks a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Marketing Communications Intern to join our award-winning Marketing Communications team.
This internship offers hands-on experience in public relations, media relations, marketing strategy, content creation, social media, advertising, special events, and nonprofit communications. Interns will contribute to real projects which support one of Houston's premier cultural institutions while gaining valuable experience in integrated marketing communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and distribution of press releases and media advisories.
- Research media contacts and maintain media lists.
- Monitor and compile media coverage and prepare media reports.
- Draft social media content and assist with content calendars.
- Write website copy, newsletters, blog articles, and promotional materials.
- Assist with photography and videography coordination during Museum events.
- Support marketing campaigns promoting exhibits, seasonal events, educational programming, and fundraising initiatives.
- Conduct research on community partnerships, audience trends, and competitive organizations.
- Assist in coordinating media visits, interviews, and special events.
- Help organize marketing assets, digital files, and project timelines.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for creative campaigns and storytelling opportunities.
- Provide administrative support to the Marketing Communications team as needed.

Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Major in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Digital Media, English, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube is preferred.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, or video editing is a plus.
