Corporate Brand Marketing is a dynamic team dedicated to improving ExxonMobil’s reputation by driving positive reappraisal among businesses leaders and government entities. We are currently seeking to hire a talented Senior Corporate Brand Media Advisor. In this role, you will lead media strategy, media planning and execution in support of Corporate Brand Marketing campaigns and efforts. You will be pivotal in supporting shaping and extending ExxonMobil’s public perception and creating awareness of our new solutions in the Energy transition space. You will also help manage reputational risk and amplify our thought leadership and company’s position across traditional, digital, and emerging media platforms. The selected candidate will bring deep media expertise, a data-driven approach based on analytics and a strong understanding of brand marketing, upper funnel long-term KPIs and corporate communications. This candidate must be able to navigate complex stakeholder environments in a matrixed organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement integrated media plans that support ExxonMobil’s Corporate/Public & Government Affairs goals and corresponding marketing initiatives.
- Partner with teams across P&GA’s Communications, Government Relations, Legal, Investor Relations and other lines of business marketing teams to align media strategies with business priorities and reputational goals.
- Lead the planning and execution of media campaigns.
- Design and optimize a balanced media mix across paid channels—including digital, paid social, print, broadcast, and out-of-home (OOH)—to maximize reach, relevance, and reputational impact. Oversee the use of programmatic media to enhance targeting precision, efficiency, and real-time optimization.
- Track media performance and pre-determined KPIs across the lifecycle of paid media campaigns.
- Work closely with analytics team members to provide actionable insights to enhance media investment, message resonance and increase positive reputation.
- Leverage first-party and third-party data to inform media targeting, audience segmentation, and content strategy.
- Use dashboards and reporting frameworks to measure campaign effectiveness, brand health, and media ROI across paid channels.
- Work in tandem with analytics teams, including analytics agency teams, to build robust measurement frameworks and identify emerging opportunities for proactive media engagement.
- Assist in creation and implementation of attribution models to understand the impact of media efforts on reputation metrics, media performance and target audience engagement.
- Work with external agencies to develop and interpret results from data-driven projects (full funnel models, attribution models, 3P measurement tracking).
- Support competitive media audits and benchmarking to evaluate performance relative to industry peers and best practices.
- Collaborate with external agencies and internal cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven marketing initiatives.
- Provide oversight and partners with media agencies and platform partners to ensure strategic alignment, creative excellence, and cost efficiency.
- Support rapid-response media planning during sensitive issues, ensuring message control and audience targeting.
- Promote executive visibility and corporate thought leadership through strategic media placements and partnerships.
- Support oversight of design and execution of A/B tests to evaluate campaign and media effectiveness and bring innovation and learning to future marketing planning and activation.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in data science and marketing analytics.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Data Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of proven experience in paid media roles, preferably brand side or agency side.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing and overall digital media and measurement ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience in media strategy, media planning, media buying, the advertising industry, martech and adtech ecosystems.
- Experience with data visualization tools, preference with Power BI.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience or interest in the B2B and public & government affairs sectors is preferred.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools and CRM systems such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google’s suite of products is preferred.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices is preferred.
- Agency experience or agency management experience is preferred.
- Analytics and analytics tools proficiency is preferred.
