Job Overview
Pasadena Insurance Agency is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist to support our commercial producers and manage the placement of new and renewal business.
This is not a sales producer position or a traditional account management role. The primary responsibility is to determine how, where, and with whom an account should be marketed and then manage that process through placement.
We are looking for someone who understands commercial insurance, carrier appetites, underwriting expectations, and how to negotiate a strong overall insurance program.
Responsibilities
- Develop marketing and placement strategies for commercial P&C accounts
- Review exposures, loss history, applications, and supporting information for submission readiness
- Identify appropriate carriers based on risk characteristics and market appetite
- Prepare and submit professional submissions to underwriters
- Maintain strong carrier and underwriter relationships
- Negotiate premiums, deductibles, coverage terms, limits, exclusions, and policy conditions
- Evaluate quotes based on coverage, terms, pricing, and overall program structure
- Identify coverage gaps and alternative solutions
- Track quotes, declinations, outstanding information, and market responses
- Provide producers with market feedback and placement recommendations
- Assist producers with proposals for key accounts and prospects
- Stay current on carrier appetites, underwriting changes, products, and market conditions
What We're Looking For
We want someone who can analyze an account, develop a strategy, know which markets make sense, communicate the risk effectively to an underwriter, and negotiate the best possible outcome.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Commercial Lines Marketing
- Commercial P&C Account Management
- Placement Specialist
- Assistant Broker / Wholesale Brokerage
- Commercial or Production Underwriting
Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial P&C insurance experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial coverages and carrier appetites
- Experience marketing commercial accounts
- Strong carrier and underwriter relationships
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Texas Property & Casualty license preferred
